Jaw Crusher Introduction
The jaw crusher is one of the earliest types of crushing equipment. Thanks to its simple structure, robust construction, reliable operation, easy maintenance and repair, as well as relatively low production and construction costs, it remains widely used in industrial sectors such as metallurgy, chemical engineering, building materials, power generation, and transportation for the coarse, medium, and fine crushing of various ores and rocks with compressive strength ranging from 147 to 245 MPa. In recent years, to meet the demands of industries like metallurgy, mining, and construction for crushing high-strength, high-hardness low-carbon ferrochrome, our factory has specially developed a powerful jaw crusher.
Jaw Crusher Features
1.Employs mature manufacturing processes and selects high-quality raw materials.
2.Features a more robust moving jaw assembly for enhanced durability. This assembly is made of high-quality cast steel components and is driven by two large cast steel flywheels. Furthermore, the heavy-duty eccentric shaft is machined from forged blanks, ensuring exceptional reliability for the JC series jaw crushers.
3.Utilizes an integral cast steel bearing seat. This structure ensures perfect alignment with the crusher frame and significantly increases the radial strength of the bearing seat, an advantage not offered by split-type bearing seats.
4.Incorporates Finite Element Analysis technology, resulting in a crusher with higher strength.
5.The crushing chamber features a symmetrical “V” shape design, ensuring the actual feed opening width matches the nominal width.
6.Faster and more convenient discharge opening adjustment. The European JC series jaw crushers are equipped with a wedge adjustment system, which is simpler, safer, and quicker than the old shim adjustment method.
7.Utilizes larger bearing specifications with higher load capacity. All JC series jaw crushers are fitted with larger, more durable eccentric shaft bearings than other crushers of comparable size. The higher load capacity and effective labyrinth seals greatly extend bearing service life.
8.The use of corrugated jaw plates increases the effective length of the crushing zone, resulting in higher production capacity.
Jaw Crusher Working Principle
Although there are various structural forms of jaw crushers, their working principle remains the same: they crush materials through the periodic movement of the movable jaw. As the movable jaw swings towards the fixed jaw around the suspension hinge shaft, the material located between the two jaw plates is subjected to a combination of compression, splitting, and bending forces.
Initially, the pressure is relatively low, reducing the volume of the material and causing the particles to move closer together and compact. When the pressure increases beyond the material’s strength limit, fracture occurs. Conversely, when the movable jaw swings away from the fixed jaw, the material moves downward under its own weight.
Each cyclical movement of the movable jaw applies a compressive force to the material and advances it downward a certain distance. After several cycles, the crushed material is discharged from the outlet. As the motor runs continuously, the crusher’s movable jaw performs periodic movements to crush and discharge material, enabling mass production.
